In the “U.S. Patent Quality Rankings” announced this year by Patent Bots, a U.S.-based patent analytics company, IPUSA was ranked 4th among the top 157 law firms nationwide in Technology Center 1700.

This marks the second consecutive year that IPUSA has achieved a Top 10 ranking in this technology area:
Technology Center 1700: Chemical and Materials Engineering

The rankings are based on patents issued over the past year, which were downloaded and analysed using an automated patent proofreading tool to count errors in each patent.

The following three types of errors are evaluated when calculating the quality score:

・Incorrect reference numerals
・Incorrect article usage
・Claim terminology not clearly supported by the specification

Accordingly, we believe this ranking also reflects the preparation of claims capable of withstanding enforcement.
